Why Handshake exists
LinkedIn stopped rewarding the people who use it well. Handshake is how you get it working for you again - by starting real conversations with the right people, one to one, instead of shouting into a feed and hoping.
The problem we set out to solve
Everyone who relies on LinkedIn is fighting the same quiet battle. You write a post that took an hour and means something to you, and the feed buries it. You build a presence for months and the reach goes backwards. The algorithm decides who sees you, and lately the answer is "fewer people than last year" - no matter how good your work is.
At the same time, inboxes and feeds are drowning. There is more content than anyone can read, so we have all stopped reading. We skim. We decide in a second or two whether something is worth our attention, and move on. Getting noticed by the right person, at the right moment, in a way they actually respond to, has never been harder.
The usual fix has been to automate harder - blast more connection requests, send more templated messages, hope volume wins. It does not. People can feel a mass-send a mile away, and it costs you the one thing outbound actually runs on: Trust.
What we believe
Business still happens between people. Deals, meetings, partnerships - they all start with one human deciding to trust another. No amount of volume replaces that, and no clever tool makes it optional.
So Handshake is not a machine for sending more messages. It is a way to have more of the right conversations - the kind that start a real relationship - without spending your whole week to do it. The goal was never "more outreach." It is better first conversations, at a scale you can actually stand behind.
How Handshake answers it
Instead of relying on the feed to put you in front of the right people, Handshake goes and finds them directly, and helps you open a genuine one-to-one conversation. It does the heavy lifting around the edges - finding the right prospects, drafting a tailored message for each one, pacing everything so it stays safe and human - so the part that matters most, the actual conversation, is the part you get to keep your hands on.
In plain terms, Handshake lets you reach past the algorithm and talk to the people you want to talk to, as yourself.
You stay in it - that is the point
Some tools promise to do outbound entirely for you, no human required. We deliberately do not, because it does not work: Sooner or later the person on the other end senses that no one is really there, and the conversation dies. The human touch is not a step we are trying to remove - it is the whole reason this works.
So you stay in control. Handshake drafts; you read, adjust, and approve before anything goes out. You can add a quick voice note so the other person knows there is a real human here. You decide how light or hands-on you want to be. The platform carries the load; your judgement and your voice carry the relationship. If what you want is a fully hands-off blast tool, Handshake is honestly not for you - and that is by design.
What you get from it
Because it starts with real conversations, the value compounds in ways a one-off mailshot never does:
- Real conversations with people who chose to reply, not contacts who were spammed.
- A network you own - the connections you build stay yours, for good.
- Reputation and familiarity - showing up personally, again and again, is what makes people trust you. The brain barely separates "familiar" from "trusted."
- Meetings and pipeline - the outcome most people come for. It is real, but think of it as the result of the relationship, not the whole point of it.
Who it is for
The starting point is the same for everyone: You want to build real relationships with the right people, without the feed getting in the way. Where it leads is up to you.
- Founders and independents who need to grow a network and start conversations that matter, without it feeling pushy.
- Sales teams who want every rep reaching the right people in a consistent, on-brand, trackable way.
- Agencies and partners who deliver outbound for their clients and want one system that handles the heavy lifting so they can focus on results and relationships.
Same belief, different outcomes - meetings, sales, partnerships, or simply a stronger network of people who know and trust you.
